Civic engagement by all stakeholders is essential for the sustainable development of the local socioeconomic environment, increasing political trust, and strengthening democratic values.  The active participation of stakeholders at the local level is critical for its sustainable development, operations and protection.  Direct citizen participation calls for the direct involvement of community stakeholders in government decision-making and public service delivery.

BuildAction was established on the best-practice principles of public participation in the political process.  It enables stakeholders to voice concerns, post articles, reports and other information that validate the concerns, engage others in discussion, and request action from governmental authorities and public office holders.  BuildAction is a toolkit for stakeholder participation and undertaking collective action to transition towards a sustainable community.  It also allows the local government to better understand our needs and take the action that it calls for.

BuildAction encourages the engagement of like-minded citizens who have a direct stake in the development and operation of the community as well as stakeholders from the public and private sectors.   Together, they voice concerns about the community and suggest the solutions for its sustainable development, operation and protection now and for future generations.

Citizen participation in local governance is facilitated through a set of tools and techniques that promote good governance at the local level.  The BuildAction community participation platform is only one tool for addressing the challenges.  BuildAction also features solutions, reference resources and tools to encourage collaboration and support stakeholders in the transition toward sustainability locally and across the world.

All stakeholders must take urgent action to ensure the sustainable development and operation of the community.   BuildAction enables you to take action and suggest the solutions for sustainable development, operation and protection of your community (find or add your community here).
