An exchange member whose primary functions are (1) as market maker in one or more assigned stocks when liquidity is needed; (2) as brokers’ broker overseeing the matching of buyers and sellers on an agency basis; and (3) as auctioneer, who maintains order within the trading crowd and ensures orderly trading of the security.
